Dism error cant mount on the mount folder.Can’t delete DISM mounted image, Can’t mount WIM file in the mount folder.
Sometimes when using dism you might the error: Error: 0xc1420114
The user attempted to mount to a directory that is not empty. This is not supported.
This error could occur because there is already an image installed on that particular folder and there are files within the folder or because the location is reserved in registry as a location containing a mounted WIM image. In either case you end up with the problem where you can’t delete the folder or the contents.
For that you need to search the registry and located the mountedimages key and delete it entirely and then only you might be able to delete the folder or its contents.
In other instances just by finding where the mounted images are you can issue the DISM.exe /Unmount-Wim /MountDir:C:\test\offline /discard. This way you can clear the registry key without manually deleting it. You have to use the /Mountdirpath:c:\yourrespectivepath\ from your respective case, not the one used in the examples above.
In addition you can find mounted images which are located in your user profile in the temp folder and you can’t delete the files. In this situation you can issue the same command “DISM.exe /Unmount-Wim /MountDir:C:\test\offline /discard” but you have to make sure you have the proper path to your temporary folder and this way you can save major space on your Technician computer and from your technician user profile. The user profile is found temp folder is found here :”C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp” within the temp folder you might find temporary folder structures from mounted WIMs. This happens when you use MDT 2010 or MDT 2012. It might also happen when you use SCCM.
